Treasure Planet: Finding your own niche
Watching this film again at HBO makes me wonder what it feels like to have an adventure.
Going out there with a friend or on your own; packing your stuffs bringing along with you your camera, compass or even a map to track your destinations. Things like that makes me feel I want to embrace the world and reach for the highest mountain and shout at the top of my voice. That I am a conqueror in my own right!

Seeking solace is a form of soul searching. It also implies to the raging hormones of those teens experiencing the puberty stage.
The puberty part of your life that will determine who you really are, of who you must be. It is the turning point in one's life that will separate your childish acts from matured attitudes.
It drives you crazy at times. Just like what I have been through, trying out other things to prove the old folks that I can do better than this. You know what I did? I joined the varsity for track and field and later in my last year in high school, I became 2nd Lieutenant Platoon Leader. Those experiences led me to say to myself that I am blessed to do things that others cannot.
How far you will go in your travels will help succeed in life. Success is not measure by the distance that you will undertake. It is measure by how far you are willing to walk and discover the roads ahead of you.
Furthermore, how far you have traveled on, always remember your family. The family that mold you of you are. The family that loved and cared for you. Because not all the times your parents are here. Always say you love them and appreciate every single detail they do for you. You will never know that one day they could be gone from you.
Just like what the story displays James' father left them without a single word. So he grew up kind of rebellious. The kind of attitude that is normal in a child who grew up in an environment without a father. Though his father was not around his mother was there for him. A sort of family set-up that I have seen so far.
We also grew up seeing our father occasionally because he used to be a Filipino Overseas Worker in Saudi Arabia. An absentee father and only our mother was here acting as a mother and a father at the same time. But that experience taught me to study more and give in return the hardships that our father did for us so that we could have a better life.
On my part, I promise to myself that when the time comes that I will rear my family, I want to be an hands - on Mom.
Finding your own place in this world will help you realize in which path you should take. There are only two cross roads to choose: one is for greatness and the other one is for misery.
