POV CDRAMA: BLOSSOM 2024

This was the 2024 period drama that I managed to finish watching. The drama was an extra - ordinary and beautifully executed serving a 100% captivating visualize stemming from the costumes designs to the hair and make-up of all thespians involved in the set. The drama had 34 episodes which you cam watch at WeTV.

Towards the end of episode 1, General Song Mo (played by Li Yunrui) fought back the forces of the real traitors of their kingdom. The female lead, Dou Zhao (played by Meng Ziyi) due to unfriendly circumstances was caught at the middle of the civil war.

They tried to fight back but their enemies were far too great for them to handle. In the end, they were killed, and their lifeless bodies were thrown into the abyss of the cliff shattering the mirror concealing the "magic - time gate."

They woke up in a Buddhist temple back at the time where both of their mothers were still alive. Dou Zhao was the one who remembers the past while Song Mo does not recall the supposed dream he had.

Though they may try to rewrite both the future and present, what the red string of fate dictates still allowed them to meet. As they had their one step closer to their destiny, they learned to trust and rely on each other. Their bond aided them to uncover the whole truth about the corruption within the walls of the empire.

What I admire about this period drama was that the creative crew gave Dao Zhao a strong character which balances the character of  Song Mo. The female lead may find herself in dire moments but she still managed to stand up on her own feet. She was an excellent business woman hiding in a man's name sometimes. Since she knew few people would questions her ability to manage the business for being a woman. It was a same plight with her friend, Miao An Su, who was from a family of merchant who later became a princess royale since the empress endowed her the title. An Su also excelled in trade and her intelligence made their family business thrive and prosper. But, because of being a woman of her time, her stance in their family business was unimportant to her dismay.

Be it in ancient times and modern tines, the role of women are always at the sideline of men. Women really have to prove their worth, abilities and strengths in this domineering society. If you are different, you don't fit. People will call you names, insult you and mistreat you. Arrange Marriage is another thing which I notice in the storyline. You don't marry the one you love but you marry which your elders desire for you. Most of the time, these types of marriage ended badly. Abuse oftentimes surface, it is like once you get want you want, just ditch your spouse and let them feed themselves.

My take on marriage will always be get married when you are ready. It is your life, your body , you know when you are apt to the challenge of wedding vows. Remember the part: for sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, 'til death do us part which couple nowadays fail to keep. Numbers of annulment and divorce cases here and abroad skyrocketed compared to the generation of our forefathers.

This is just purely my opinion and it does not foreshadows others say on this matter. Just watch the drama series at WeTV. There are so many things you can learn from it and I cannot summarize it for everyone.
