Apolitical No More

I admit I had no interest in politics for the longest of time that I could remember. I am not also a voter for the longest of time as well. 

But what change my mind was the unimaginable thing happened right in front of our house. It was almost twelve noon when men in blue uniform came they were quite handful that day. They knocked in one of our neighbor's gate who was an apartment owner. They were looking for someone when our neighbor , the landlord, said "yes" the policemen just barged in running inside our neighbor's house without indicating the Miranda Rights and with the absence of an arrest warrant. I watched everything unfold behind our window, it drained the blood within me. In that moment I thought there would be a bloodshed just like what happened to the rest of the drug war cases, all ended in blood bath. Good thing, there was no gunfire that day, they just dragged off the poor guy and been released overnight. 

There is nothing wrong in catching and punishing all the culprits who are responsible for the widespread use of drugs. But it should be done with proper observance of the law. 

Other than the so called drug war, the second reason why I will not watch anymore was the issue of Pharmally and how does the government at that time the Covid -19 pandemic. People here and there were losing their jobs, their businesses and people were beginning to get sick and die. However, the Duterte administration failed to give aid towards its' countrymen. There were no appropriate coordination between government offices from national to local how to properly handle the situation from supplies of foods, medicines, face masks, face shields and monetary assistance. Seemingly, most of the politicians were also nowhere to be found during those hard times. 

Third, the lack of judiciary protocol which the former administration failed to provide for those who were red tagged for speaking up regarding corruptions issues, extra-judicial killings (EJK), the forced closed down of ABS-CBN and media bullying like what they did to Maria Ressa of Rappler. One more thing, sexual misconduct should not be normalize. Immorality and amorality of the society towards the opposite sex and civil status should be called for and punished according to Philippine laws. Even women are equal with men with the same human rights, no gender is above the other symbolizing a supremacy being. 

Such civil issues prompted to change my views in 360 degrees. So, around 2021 when former Vice- President Leni G. Robredo filed for presidency, I grabbed our Dad's dslr and become a volunteer documentarist for our group until now.  Although the Leni-Kiko slate failed to win last 2022 election, Atty. Leni formed the Angat Buhay, a Non -Government Organization (NGO) foundation which caters to the medical, education and social needs of Filipinos. Now, we formally formed a NGO group which holds the charity advocacy of Angat Buhay. 

In order for a country to thrive, clowns should not be in the palace in the first place. If it does it will become a circus. Elect a person with high regards to education, values and morals, you will never go wrong, 

 Apolitical - having no interest in politics. (adjective)

Amorality - both as a noun and an adjective, refers to a lack of moral principles or values.
