Team Grey?

Earlier this morning, my female cousin, let us hide her in the name of “Jo.” She re-posted my book review part 4 regarding Fifty Shades of Grey. She captioned it with “Sally (not the real name of her friend) we have someone in our side, my dearest cousin….
I was like whoa……I am not aware that there is a team. What I am trying to point at is that, I do not mean to be someone else ally. It is my hobby of conducting book review whenever the pages are done. I also make it to a point that I grab the gist of the story before judging the whole concept.

Taking sides sometimes is not my thing. Although I admit there are times that I am looking for a fellow “pro” in defending a book but not this time. Since the flow of the scenes are controversial due to erotic – enticing narration, so I prefer to keep my silence. The saying is correct “do not judge the book by its cover.” Though it receives negative feedbacks by critics, still it sold millions of copies worldwide. My theory, you can never dampen the spirit of a good book.

The Fifty Shades Trilogy are not just papers which E.L. James wrote. She crafted the whole concept because she aims the readers to fall in love all over again and to see a different perspective. There are morals which the books convey. A piece of advice, read it, feel it with your soul. Set aside the erotic scenes, those are reactions we do when we reached the pedestal of cloud nine.

We live in a democrat society. So I solely affirm that we all have rights to express what we want. Be what we want to be. If in your opinion a book is not good, then drop it. All the things that we made through our intense effort, I do not think it is healthy to judge it that way.  As a human being, we aspire to be the best as we could ever be. We deserve appreciation and not criticisms.
With all honesty, I fell in love with Christian Grey’s personality not because of the steamy body contacts. I loved him at the moment he opened himself to Anastasia Steele and in that moment I saw his soul. It is a rare thing which happens to me every time I read books. If I feel the soul of the characters it means it is a precious masterpiece. It is the part where they quarreled a bit as who will drive the car and then Christian smiled as if he was a child. That scene pierced my heart. It made me feel I am one of them --- Anastasia.

I owe E.L. James something, she made me realize that married life is never a bed roses. In order for a marriage to survive, as a couple they must have determination to guard it against intruders. Actually, while reading it, it reminds me of the saying it takes two to tango. Before the Fifty Shades Freed ended, Christian said the same thing to Ana. I laughed till my tears fell down in my face. Not because I am overreacting but it takes me to that point of in life where you will realize how far you have gone and there is no turning back.

I am single, like Ana, we are member of NBSB (no boyfriend since birth) and still praying for someone to come along. I will surely take note what Grey and Ana taught me. Once you are married, no secrets will be hidden, every part of you will be revealed. Be with someone who will be proud and say “this is mine, isn't she or he great?”

This is a parallel world, we will never know where it will takes us. Do not judge so as you will not be judge in the end. Love will come when you don’t expect it. You know, when you know he or she is the right one.
