Believe in the Magic of Kindness - Cinderella
In the 90's before I went to sleep, Dad used to play Cinderella in our beta max tape. Yes! Beta max. It was the old version of VHS. Since Dad was too lazy to read stories for me, he bought a tape and played it every night.
Cinderella was the first fairy tale movie of Walt Disney that I watched. Though one of my colleague laughed at me when she found out I am fond of these bedtime stories.
Though somehow I was offended by it. I just ignored the sarcasm. People may belittle me because of what my point of views
have been. Due to my excessive reading of children books before, I believe in
dreams will come true. I maybe old for
fairy tales but those tales taught me the value of kindness, compassion, obedience,
beauty comes from within and courage. Those stories taught me to read, to write
and to dream.
Though I admit growing up with bedtime stories could make
you believe in fantasy and prince charming. But I am telling you, those who
grow up with those stories have passion for life. No matter what this life may
bring, always hold on to your faith. Believe that in one way or another you
will succeed, as long as your heart is with it. Addition to that, in life you really have to kiss so many frogs before you kiss the right prince.
In the trailer of Cinderella, her dying mother told her that
“whenever there is goodness, there is kindness and when there is kindness,
there is magic.” I solely have my faith in
it. Magic does not only mean having special capacity to turn water to blood. But
it simply means finding the bravery to travel the unknown road. Once you are
there be who you are. Be comfortable in your own skin. And that is magic!
Whatever our childhood life has been, for sure it is a fantastic
one. It is all up to us if we enjoy the ride. Find pleasure in reading books. Books
could take you in places you have never been before. Through it we could
examine our lives; what do we want to achieve or have we achieve what we want? What
kind of being you become, remember it is the choice you made, no one else.
