Tagaytay Getaway ;)

The place where we stayed.

Tagaytay Adventure

Inside the seminary

We went to Tagaytay yesterday morning. We stayed in a certain seminary, the place was so peaceful and the locals were very friendly.

Anyone could find his or her solace in a quiet sanctuary and be able to reflect with what she or he will do with his life.

After those stressful episodes at work plus the ever ending demands at the Graduate School, I decided to tag along in this trip. After all I needed some "me" time. I  reconnected with my inner self.
We arrived at somewhere 8 am in the morning. We met the Priest (the brother of our fellow Science teacher) that welcomed us in his humble abode.

After the greetings we went to our designated rooms and unloaded our stuffs. Then we headed to the kitchen to have some breakfast.

When the meal was over, we explored the place took some time off before we head to the road.

Then we headed to Picnic Grove. My fellow teacher and I had some quality time with the fish doctors in a cozy Fish Spa. We enjoyed the services for 10 minutes . Actually, we were laughing so hard because the their mouths were big. The moment the sole of your feet touch the surface of the water, they immediately suck it.

We were like "OMG! I cannot take it for a moment...... :) Give me a break for a while, I'm ticklish, you know." (OMG! Sandali lang...... :) Teka lang, nakikiliti ako).

When the session was over, we toured the place. I was a bit surprised that the place got a major renovation on its own.

Way back in the 90's the place was not so develop but nowadays it really improved.

Over View of Tagaytay

After  the Picnic Grove, we headed towards People Park in the Sky. Before it was coined as Palace in the Sky during the Marcos Regime. When Marcos was removed to power, it was now known as People Park in the Sky.
Deep breathing Sir Ben

Once you reach the topmost part of it you could see the magnificent views in Tagaytay.

There were a lot of tiangge (small stores) where you could purchase souvenirs. I bought 2 items one was Spongebob and Wolf hat. But somehow I was saddened by the fact that it was not that beautiful anymore.

It seems like they don't have enough appreciation with the place.

After the long trip we headed back to the seminary. Their kitchen was so huge (appropriate for a restaurant type kitchen). And dude it was very tidy too. Every part of the kitchen as well as the dining room were very clean.
In this picture I was preparing to cook the sopas
Since we were only few I helped out in cooking. We cooked fried fish and chopseuy. We shared a sumptuous meal and there had been a new love team. I'm not going to tell who they are but if you insist on asking I might spill the beans. Hehehe ;)

After the cooking session picture time :)

Then morning came once more, Ms. Sha woke me up and informed me that after 10 minutes we will cook sopas (soup) for breakfast. So I fixed my bed, brush my teeth and fix my hair before going downstairs.

Upon entering the kitchen that morning, I stretched for a while then prepared the tools I need for cooking the sopas.
Sopas oriental style
Of course, Ms. Sha came in to aid me in the kitchen followed by Ms. Malou. Together we shared some weird experiences we had last night. Hmmmmm...probably I will share that story some other time.

After the cooking session it was time now for breakfast. We were glad that one of the priest came and joined us for  breakfast.

Breakfast with Father

Like a typical Filipino family we shared some stories while eating and everyone was talking one after the other.

Later, we went to the Lourdes Church to attend mass. Right after the mass, the 4 of us had a picture taking. We took some photos with the statues of St. Francis and St. Fr. Pio of Pietrelcina.

Then we went back to the seminary to load our staffs.

We would definitely miss the place. We were very thankful for those 3 priests that accommodated us in our 2 days and 1 night stay in their humble zenith.

Group picture was not exempted. Filipinos love picture taking very much. Photo taken here and there, say cheese, wacky pose and everything. Filipinos would also tell something about the picture before and after clicking the camera.

The whole group
Like for example feel niya talaga ang camera (he/ she like the camera), grabe maka -pose parang walang bukas (you're exaggerating your pose) and stuff like that.
Final pose

Then we boarded the van and headed home. Wait a minute, going home without pasalubong (souvenir)? OMG! A big no, no........ Just kidding, in our culture aside from taking photos, we love to buy pasalubong for our loved ones.

I bought 4 pieces of pineapples for Php 100 and 3 lettuces placed in a cup for Php 100.
The pineapple field

Then we dropped by at Rowena's pastry store and purchased 1 box of Buko pie, 2 boxes assorted tars (Blueberry and Strawberry) and Cheese tart, each box was worth Php 180.

Spending some quality time with yourself is a form of reconnecting to one's soul. Have fun while you still have the strength to do all the things you want. Enjoy the summer :)
