Movie Critic: Everything About Her
My sister and I watch this film by Star Cinema just now. Well, what can I say? All of the thespians spearheaded by Ms. Vilma Santos, Angel Locsin and Xian Lim did a wonderful job. Their emotions will trigger your innermost self on mother-child relationship.
This film centers on Vivian Rabaya (Vilma Santos) as the fiery business woman who later found that she is stage 4 cancer. Then, her oncologist recommends to hire Jaica (Angel Locsin) as Vivian's private duty nurse. As the story progresses, Jaica called Albert (Xian Lim) to come home.
I will not say more about the whole plot of this one. As poignant as it is, it will allow the viewers to re-examine their relationship with their parents. In comparison with Albert's plight, mine is almost the same. Since our parents are both architects and run a furniture shop; most of the time it eats our mother's times from us. I am a varsity track-n-field player during my high school days. Oftentimes, mom would promise she would watch my games but she never did. There are times that I would compare the status of our furniture company from the other fellow architects of mom. In my mind there are so many if's like "What if Mom would close a million pesos deal from her clients? Are we going to have the same luxurious life among the rest?" However, upon watching the film it makes me realize that life is not sugar coated after all. There would be consequences in every given circumstances. If in case we are as rich like the others, are we going to have a solid family interaction or a broken one? Whenever I would compare our plight from the prominent architect clans, I am thankful for whatever resources we have. From this experience, we live a life of simplicity and appreciating what is in front of you.
All the actors give their superb performance. Ms. Vilma Santos' acting will showcase the scenario of every career -minded mothers as it will contradict her mother role from her only son. Xian's role is not far from every youth's demand of attention, love and care from their parents, so as the character of Angel Locsin. Like them, I am working overseas, been here in the country for twice a year for about two to four weeks. So I only have less time quality with my family. Although lately, I have been thinking to open a business here so I could have an ample with my parents. They are not getting any younger and so am I. Saying "I love you" to your parents will not depreciate your value as a human being.
Young or old will definitely love this heartwarming film about our communication with our parents. All of them magnificently bring to the life their characters. I am really impressed with Xian's portrayal, his character totally presented the lamentations of a child with his estrange mother. In a 100 percent score, I give the house cap to ABS-CBN and Star Cinema for this 2016 film.
Congratulations ABS-CBN and Star Cinema!!
