Lost and Redeemed from Makati to Araneta, Cubao
Last March 31, 2014, my contract finally ended since I did not wish to renew my contract nor changed it
from probationary to permanent. Since then I have been applying to numerous available job opportunities.
Earlier days of April, I went to Makati City to apply for a
job in a certain testing company. I merely got lost
in the city since I am not familiar with the place.
Fortunately, I was able to call a cab to help me find the
right road towards my destination. So after a while, I was
able to arrive safe and sound in the company where I am
applying as a test developer that day.
After submitting my requirements, I ate lunch at WalMart. Because of may lack of directions, I
approached several guards on what road should I take in order to get back in the main street of
Makati (referring to the area where you could see the statue of Ninoy Aquino). When the Barker ( a term
used to describe the person announcing the destinations of PUV) said SM, my thinking was SM MEGA
MALL. So I hurriedly approached the jeepney driver if the trip was bound to Mega Mall, he and the rest of
the passengers laughed at me. In my humiliation, I left and crossed the street and grabbed a cab again, this
time bound to Glorietta Mall. When I was inside the taxi, the driver asked me where I was going, I slowly
replied Glorietta Mall. Then he asked me again on what phase of the mall either gate 1,2. 3 or 4. I just
answered him gate 1. Upon arrival at the mall, I paid my fare of course, then I immediately searched the
street where I could find the bus bound to SM Mega Mall. The mall guard told me that I could find that bus
once I reached the connecting bridge of Glorietta and SM Makati. So I hurriedly look for that bridge that
will redeem my way of path. There was a moment where I blame myself for my lack of direction as a result
of my "home buddy attitude". But I told to myself that this event should be charged to experience and enjoy
the moment of temporary lost in Makati. Inside SM Makati, I asked for the location of MRT going to
Araneta, Cubao, the mall guards helped me in locating it and gladly I found it. So I bought a ticket off to
Araneta, Cubao and thanks God I was able to find my way back.

Upon arrival at Cubao station, I asked the direction where I could find the LRT from Cubao to Santolan.
The mall guards pointed out that I should take the connecting bridge from the mall to Gateway Mall.
So I looked and walked again for couple of minutes just to find Gateway. Once inside the Gateway mall, I
asked again the mall guard where was the LRT station bound to Santolan and he stressed out that I should
take the elevator upstairs and there could be find what I am looking for. After that look and find mode, I
happily found the LRT bound to Santolan, so I bought a ticket and swoosh I was able to go home safe and
sound.
From that trip, the lessons which I learned were be calm. In life greatest trials, we should be calm at all
times. If you seem lost, there is nothing wrong in seeking help. Everyday of our lives, is a reflection of
adventure, so make sure you have enjoyed your moment.
