Will You Let Me In or Out?

Last year 2013, it was a Saturday, my
younger sister called me and point out the TV screen. As I approached the
living room, she was laughing and cannot believe of what she saw. I then asked
her why was she laughing and she told me the reason why was she laughing.
According to her the show was about cosmetic surgery about women wanting to
look beautiful. I felt my eyebrows rise to the highest degree at that
time.
I cannot
believe at first about the reality show, but when I glanced at our TV, my mouth
just opened wide and the word "WOW" just went out of my mouth. Maybe
I was a bit stereotype because I firmly believe that Koreans have a natural
beauty and less aesthetic likers.
Through the Korean
shows which I usually watched every now and then so I have this notion that
Koreans have a fantastic flawless skin, proportional face (don't get me wrong
for that), angelic face and sometimes I envy them for their looks.
Though I happened to
watch I think 3 or 4 episodes of Let Me In, the show I think has something good
to offer to the mass media. Unlike the American counterpart of the show,
wherein women are mostly the participants of various aesthetic surgeries; from
nose lift, Botox, liposuction to breast augmentation which shock and shape
Hollywood for over a decade or so. The Korean reality show has different twist.
It maybe vanity or narcissism to some, but I think the show has a good
intention. Before they permit a candidate to undergo a surgery, the management properly
screens which contestant need it the most.
At the same time, I admire how the Koreans
improved their healthcare system. The sophisticated and modernized facilities
aid in the boost of their economy. The Korean healthcare system is one of the
most admired in the medical field worldwide.
For the name of beauty or
not, it is the individual's intention which matter the most. Beauty may fade
but the character remains.
